A discrete AMG station wagon
This powerful break cultivates superlatives both in performance and in pricing. A rarity which is justified by excessive French taxation. The brave and future owners will have to pay a maximum tax of €40,000, this Mercedes AMG E63s could have put aside this sad record.
Back to basics, a break like no other which reaches almost 5 meters long (4.93 m), it starts to become imposing especially for maneuvering in urban areas.
On the front, the show of force begins with this sublime pan-American grille, a sporty pedigree marked by the AMG badge, its large air intakes to cool the beast complete the body kit.
A style worked on this second phase, with more slender Multibeam front lights. Wiser and less demonstrative, the front and rear bumpers have been slightly redesigned.

In profile, this Wagon version imposes a square roofline, far from being the most elegant of station wagons, the design seems to be set aside to be the most accommodating sports station wagon thanks to its trunk capacity much higher than an Audi RS6 .
We continue the exterior tour, and I must admit that the rear part is the one that inspires me the least, you have to admit that it's quite special. Too bad for the rear optics which do not undergo any modification for restyling, unlike the sedan (the tastes and the colors, you know the song).

Interior tour: a refined interior that can be appreciated in detail
The passenger compartment is high-end and technological in this very beautiful configuration. Roominess: the largest boot in its class
In the rear seats, seated comfortably, there is plenty of space, except for the traditional middle seat where the transmission tunnel will reduce comfort underfoot.

Thanks to its variable transmission (electromechanically controlled clutch), 100% of the torque switches to the rear axle. Another important element of the system, the self-locking differential present on the rear axle, ensures optimal traction on bends on the rear wheels. Each acceleration and each cornering takes place at phenomenal gear changes.
The steering is surgical, any attempt to tickle the red zone sticks me to the bottom of my seat, you have to cling to your steering wheel. With its V8 Biturbo, the accelerations as well as the decelerations are lunar. The standard steel brake effectively stops the 2 tons of adrenaline. If you want to lead the dance on the circuit, it is recommended to opt for the carbon-ceramic braking system, which is more enduring for fiery driving.

A precision all the same, of course going into detail, it is not a double clutch box too fragile given the torque engaged. The operation of the MCT9 Speedshift box interlocks numerous discs (such as several clutches which bathe in oil), which mainly allow to support the passage of the reports during strong accelerations. Consumption: the gas station, my second home
In Comfort driving mode, the 612 hp 4L V8 Biturbo engine can thus cut a row of cylinders to lower consumption. It is therefore possible to run on 4 cylinders for this AMG.
